⚡ BijliCut Privacy Policy

Effective date: 3 October 2026

In short: BijliCut has no accounts and never asks for your name, phone number or email. Your meter readings and settings stay on your phone. The free version shows ads from Unity, which uses your device's advertising ID. Premium subscriptions are paid through Google Play, so we never see your card details.

This policy explains what information the BijliCut Android app (com.minhallab.bijlicut) handles, and why. BijliCut is published on Google Play by Aqeel Hassan Baghoor ("we", "us").

1. Information that stays on your phone

These are saved only in the app's private storage on your device. They are never uploaded to us:

Your electricity company (DISCO) and tariff choices
Units and bill amounts you enter
Meter readings you record (Premium)
Your language and alert settings

Reminder and slab-alert notifications are created on your phone by the app itself. They are not sent from a server.

2. Tariff updates

To keep bill estimates current, the app downloads published electricity tariff rates from our server (hosted by Supabase). The app sends no personal information in this request. As with any internet connection, the server receives your IP address to deliver the data, and we do not use it to identify you.

3. Advertising (Unity LevelPlay)

The app shows banner ads through Unity LevelPlay (Unity Technologies and its affiliate ironSource). To show and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud, Unity and the ad partners it works with may collect:

Your device's advertising ID
Device information such as model, operating system and language
Your IP address and the approximate location (country or city) derived from it
How you interact with ads, such as views and taps

This information may be used to show you more relevant ads. You can limit this at any time in Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID (wording varies by phone). Unity's practices are described in its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy.

4. Premium subscriptions

Premium is sold through Google Play's billing system. Google processes the payment, and we never receive your card or bank details. Google's handling of payments is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

We use RevenueCat to check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat receives a random identifier created by the app (not your name or email), your purchase history for BijliCut, and basic device and app information. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.

The Support ID shown in the app is that same random identifier. If you send it to us, we use it only to look up and help with your subscription.

5. What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information.
We do not ask for or access your contacts, photos, camera, microphone or precise GPS location.
We do not require you to create an account.

6. Children

BijliCut is made for adults managing household electricity bills. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

7. Keeping and deleting your information

Data on your phone: uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, deletes it.
Advertising: delete or reset your advertising ID in Android settings, as described above.
Subscription records: email us your Support ID to ask for your RevenueCat record to be deleted. Google keeps its own purchase records under its policy.

8. Security

Data sent between the app and these services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we use the protections these services provide.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's Google Play release notes.
